New Years!

I have a lot of catching up to do with this blog! It has been awhile! So first of, on New Years Eve, we had a day full of fun! It is a big holiday in Norway. We first watched a couple movies during the day! What a nice way to relax! At around 5 oclock, Anna’s parents prepared a delicious meal for us. This meal is a tradition that they have every year for New Year’s Eve and is the only time that they ever eat it. So they were all looking forward to it. For supper, we had lamb, potatoes (without the skin) and calarabi. The Norweigan girls claim that we have calarabi in America, but I have never seen it before! The lamb was something new, but was not as bad as I expected it to be. Meagan on the other hand, filled up on the potatoes and the delicious dessert. For dessert, Solveig’s mother prepared this delicious chocolate mousse pudding stuff! It is to die for! We also had a fruit salad and their amazing ice cream! You haven’t tasted good ice cream until you try the stuff from here! After supper, we then just hung around in Anna’s apartment, which is in the basement of her parents house and she invited some of her friends over. It was a blast! When it hit midnight, we went outside….where it was storming, and watched all the fireworks. Since they live near the ocean, there were a lot of big and pretty fireworks! All-in-all, it was very exciting for me to spend New Year’s in Norway because I had a blast!
